UAE Visa Rules Update April 2026 | Promise Typing Abu Dhabi

UAE Visa Alert: Grace Period Ends April 2026 – What You Need to Know

As of April 1, 2026, the UAE has officially re-imposed normal residency and visa regulations. The temporary grace period that allowed residents with expired visas or Emirates IDs to re-enter without penalties has now ended.

At Promise Typing Center, we are helping thousands of residents and business owners in Abu Dhabi navigate these changes to avoid heavy overstay fines (AED 50 per day) and travel bans.

Key 2026 Updates for Residents & Investors:

  1. End of Grace Period: If your visa expired while you were outside the country, you must now complete your renewal before re-entering the UAE. Immigration officers are now strictly enforcing expiry dates at all airports.

  2. Expanded Golden Visa (10-Year): The Golden Visa program has been broadened to include more professions. New eligible categories for 2026 include:

    • Teachers & Educators

    • Nurses & Healthcare Professionals

    • Content Creators & Influencers

  3. Property Investor Changes: Property buyers can now qualify for the 10-year Golden Visa with a property value of AED 2 Million, even if the property is mortgaged or off-plan (from approved developers). The previous AED 1 million down-payment requirement has been removed.

  4. Updated Sponsorship Rules: New salary requirements are now in place for sponsoring family members. Ensure your documents align across ICP and Emirates ID systems to avoid application rejections.
